I don’t give generic advice by just telling you to “eat your 5 fruits and vegetables per day and get more exercise.” Functional nutrition goes so much deeper. I rarely count calories, because I strongly believe that focusing on the quality of your food and improving gut health has a much greater impact on your body and achieving a healthy weight. Minimizing inflammation also makes a huge difference in how we feel which is why I offer MRT/LEAP therapy.
Because I work from an integrative perspective, I believe that both traditional and complimentary therapies play important roles on your path to better health. Nutrition and lifestyle plans are based on your habits, symptoms, lab test results, and most importantly, your goals. Aside from nutrition advice, a client’s plan may also include recommendations for physical activity and mind-body practices. When necessary, I may also advise taking targeted supplements recommended just for you.
I have been a Registered Dietitian since 2004. In early 2013 I pursued further training in more progressive holistic therapies because my traditional background, while valuable, still didn’t provide solutions for many of the problems I was seeing with patients. Since then I have concentrated my continuing education studies in functional nutrition along with complimentary practices.
Learning about more progressive nutrition therapy and utilizing it to optimize my own health inspired me to start my own practice so I could help others do the same. One of the things that I love most about my work is helping clients experience firsthand how nourishing food and small changes in everyday habits can powerfully affect their body, mind and soul for a fit, happy, healthy life. If you think that my approach sounds like a great fit for you, schedule a consultation today and let’s get started. Thanks for stopping by!
